Lawrence, KS – SparkWheel, a nonprofit organization working towards a world where barriers do not stand in the way of possibilities, is racing to the finish line in the 28th Annual Sertoma Great Topeka Duck Race.
On September 16, more than 10,000 rubber ducks will be dropped into Topeka’s Lake Shawnee for their competition. Spectators can watch in-person or via the Sertoma Clubs of Topeka’s Facebook live stream as the ducks race to the finish line. Duck adopters are eligible for various prizes, from a year’s worth of coffee to a Mazda CX-5.
Ducks can be “adopted” for a $5.00 donation. Participating organizations, such as SparkWheel, will receive 50% of each duck adopted from their team. Support SparkWheel and the more than 35,000 students they are helping this year by going to www.bit.ly/DuckRace2023.
