In the quest for academic success, many students face daunting obstacles with limited resources. That's where SparkWheel comes in. For more than 25 years, schools and families have counted on us to remove barriers, fill gaps, and be personal champions to help students thrive. Our trustworthy, passionate staff work inside schools alongside community partners to do whatever it takes to help students reach their full potential.
SparkWheel serves more than 30,000 students in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Iowa. Through the Integrated Student Supports framework, we help to support students’ academic and non-academic needs, resulting in an increased sense of well-being and greater success in school.

At SparkWheel, we strive to alleviate barriers that students and families face. Working inside schools, we provide support and services for their unique needs. We identify the needs of each student and partner with the community to address them. Whether it’s clean clothes, help with schoolwork or referrals for other services, we link students with what they need to achieve their goals. We believe there is a spark in every student we serve, and we are here to ignite their success!

At SparkWheel, we believe that every person we work with has a spark inside them. To provide more specialized services adapted to the communities that we serve, we have recently separated from the national organization Communities In Schools, which we have been a part of for more than 25 years. This decision reflects our evolution and vision for the future.

The students and families we serve will continue to receive support services to help them overcome barriers preventing them from achieving their goals. We are still primarily a school-based organization; however, with the departure from the national organization, we are able to continue to serve pre-K and post-secondary education, as well as provide new, exciting, original programs and services.

Our tagline, “Igniting Student Success," expresses our mission and impact. The name SparkWheel reflects the spark that we see in every person we serve, while the wheel symbolizes the circle of support we provide.
