Azura Credit Union Employee Foundation Awards $2,000 Grant to Support SparkWheel’s Programming in Topeka Schools

TOPEKA, KS - SparkWheel is excited to announce that the Azura Credit Union Employee Foundation (AEF) has awarded a $2,000 grant to support our programming in Topeka schools. This generous contribution will enhance SparkWheel’s efforts to provide essential services and support to students and families in the community.

SparkWheel has been a trusted partner for schools and families for over 25 years, dedicated to removing barriers and filling gaps that hinder student progress. Our passionate and committed staff work directly inside schools, collaborating with community partners to provide comprehensive support. SparkWheel's mission is to be personal champions for students, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.

The Azura Employee Foundation is equally committed to going above and beyond for the community. Established in 2018, AEF focuses on providing impactful donations to local organizations within their field of membership. The foundation is 100% employee-led, with funds raised through employee contributions. Funding decisions are determined by an eight-person committee, with grants awarded twice a year, in spring and winter.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Azura Credit Union Employee Foundation for their generous support,” said Noelle Haselhuhn, Communications Manager of SparkWheel. “This grant will significantly enhance our ability to support students in Topeka schools, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.”

This spring, AEF allocated a total of $10,500 in grants to four local nonprofits: Topeka LULAC Senior Center, Valeo Behavioral Health Care, ScrapsKC, and SparkWheel. Each year, AEF donates nearly $20,000 to the community and has donated over $103,500 to community organizations since its inception.

The $2,000 grant from AEF will be used to expand and enhance SparkWheel’s programming, providing more resources and opportunities for students to succeed. This funding will directly impact the lives of many young people, ensuring they have the support they need to excel academically and personally.
