SparkWheel Hosts Successful FutureNow: Finance Event at Independence High School

INDEPENDENCE, KS – SparkWheel, a leading organization dedicated to student success, hosted FutureNow: Finance (FNF) at Independence High School on Wednesday, January 24. FutureNow: Finance is an immersive financial literacy simulation designed to provide students with practical experience in managing finances as adults.

During the event, students had the opportunity to step into the shoes of adults and navigate real-life financial scenarios. Using profiles of their envisioned lives at 26 years old, students balanced budgets, paid bills, and managed expenses across various categories. Volunteer mentors stationed at each table guided students through the process, offering insights and advice on financial decision-making.

Principal Mr. Seiler actively participated in the event by running the Financial Advising booth, demonstrating the school's commitment to fostering financial literacy among its students. School leadership expressed enthusiasm about the event's impact, planning additional sessions later in the week to facilitate student reflection and discussion on the lessons learned.

The FutureNow: Finance event at Independence High School was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication of the SparkWheel team, volunteers, and the active engagement of students. SparkWheel remains committed to providing innovative programs that empower students with essential life skills for their future success.
